Caleb Miller, an American slave trader, was on board vessels transporting slaves to Cuba and America. Edward Spalding, a merchant from Bristol, Rhode Island, was involved in the slave-trade in Cuba and acted as agent for Jacob Babbit and the DeWolf family of Matanzas, Cuba.
